This is no joke, nor a marketing ploy- no, this is nothing short of
an epiphany. This frightening realization came to me in two distinct
forms: my first fight during law school and the movie Batman Begins.
Though each event had its own strong and unique impact on my current
tale; it should be noted that the dialogue in the two most recent
editions to the Batman saga are possibly the most noble and
genuinely heroic speech I’ve heard in countless months of ingesting
legal theories and everyday news correspondences. I am truly taken
back by the realization that our most humanistic exploits must only
be shown as fiction- portrayed by comic book defenders of justice. I
mean if the Batman truly existed today, what would people say? How
would they respond to a true vigilante, bent on justice, no matter
the cost? Fuck, I wanna be a super-hero…
Fuck, I Wanna Be a Superhero...
Big Ben's Big Debacle
I am so fucking torn over this Ben Roethlisberger ordeal. I
mean I really didn’t want to stoop to tabloid gossip on this
site. I honestly don’t consider our site a “blog”… it’s
meant to be more of a wake-up call to the Youth of Our
Nation. Regardless, it seems I am going to address this
“societal issue ” because it continues to
come up in countless conversations I’ve had as of late. The
reason I am torn however is not over a football franchise’s
reputation or the future of a star quarterback- I am
concerned about the type of message this sends to the
American public about our criminal justice system. Neither
rape nor sexual assault are easy claims to defend against in
most States, yet it seems athletes are more concerned about
their public image than impending criminal charges. Why is
this? Is it really that easy for an over-priced attorney to
swing a judicial dissension? Apparently it is…
But let’s dig deeper than that.
Voodoo Fest: A Road Trip to New Orleans
I always said, if
Rage Against the Machine ever got back together I would drive to the
end of the fuckin Earth to see that show- in 2007 the Earth ended in
New Orleans. I was a senior in college when Rage announced they
would reunite and headline the infamous Voodoo Festival. Without any
hesitation me and some buddies bought tickets for all three days of
the monumental gathering of music, culture, and soul which was
Voodoo Fest. Countless bands would rock the multi-stage set-up in
the center of the historic City Park, but none more important to me
than Rage.
The State that gave us W. is up to their extraordinarily
extremist ways yet again, and this time they are after the minds
of our youth. If you haven’t heard the Texas Board of Education
has recently passed a vote to radically alter their History and
Social Studies textbook curriculum. The change came on the backs
of a 10-5 decision that was voted strictly down the party line
by the Republican members of the Board. Now it is no secret to
any reasonably informed American citizen that for quite some
time now the Republican Party has enforced a ‘strict compliance
policy’ on their political officials to vote only as the party
does on all issues, and likewise encourages all citizen members
to similarly vote Republican in all elections. However, it now
seems this corrupt totalitarian influence is festering over and
consecrating actors in positions which have a need to remain
bipartisan and free of outside influences- the public education
sector.
Why Texas Should Have
Been Allowed to Secede
The Embargo of 1993
In every Catholic grade school exists vindictive and power hungry
creatures acutely aware of their minimal life accomplishments, lack of
contribution to society, and expendable existence.
Obsessed and starved for power, they will exert authority over small
children in a traditional and defined power structure of American
society—the teacher-pupil relationship.
A clever child subjected to this structure must quickly develop a
crafty, devious mind before reaching double digits.
A bright youth is thus left to play the angles, as with every
aspect of life. Learn the system,
exploit, repeat. A set of rules in
a catholic grade school is a sieve.
Loopholes eventually surface leaving embarrassed faculty no
option but Ex Post Facto punishment followed by sheepish reform.
At an early age, my friends and I had a knack for ridiculing
local authority figures. An art
form; a skill obtained by those with sophisticated minds and collected
temperaments.
A New World
War
If you have read any of the literature on this site then you
are aware of our great interest in inspiring a renaissance
of the American Dream, and nothing screams America like
supremacy. However the tattered and faded American Dream
fueled by military conquest has been pushed to the back
burner- a relic of megalomania. We now enter a brave new age
of international reason. An era where the World seems to
have finally came to the realization that Nations can evolve
past the primitive nature of animals- where the alpha is
determined by the biggest bite. The only real drawback to
this phenomenon is the chilling comprehension that America
may be about fifty years behind the curve. Sadly, the most
frightening aspect is American citizens don’t seem to
understand how far from grace we have truly fallen. This is
where Newsweek stepped into the ring and delivered our
bamboozled masses a knock-out punch…
The Health of Nations
Now that healthcare reform has passed, and the ink has dried, the
average American is left asking themselves- so what now? What does
this reform really mean and how will it affect our Great Nation? The
only ones who can really answer our questions are the same bastards
who have been stalling this reform for damn-near a year. We are
tired of the political scare-tactics. It’s time for some truth and
honesty from our elected representatives and though many may say
these concepts by their very nature are foreign the political beast;
I say if not now then when?
